Qatar offered 100,000 jobs to Pakistan


According to the top newsPakistan and Qatar vowed to strengthen their relationship and Qatar has offered 100,000 jobs to Pakistan for skilled and semi-skilled workers. The foreign ministers of both the countries met on Tuesday and this announcement came as the result of dialogues between the two countries.

Earlier on Tuesday the Foreign Minister of Pakistan Shah Mehmood Qureshi and his Qatari counterpart Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani met on the sidelines of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly taking place in New York.

The Qatari Foreign Minister Al Thani congratulated Shah Mehmood Qureshi on the successful elections that took place in Pakistan and welcomed him as the foreign minister. Both the foreign ministers were content with the close relationship between the two countries according to an official statement.  Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, welcomed the increase in the bilateral trade by 53 percent, and the formal operationalization of the Hamad Port.

Qureshi focused on unleashing the economic potential between Pakistan and Qatar by reinforcing the exports between the two countries. He said this could be achieved by increasing exports in certain sectors such as construction material, food items, pharmaceutical, sports good, medical equipment and fabrics.

He also suggested for an early visit of the Qatari Chamber of Commerce and Industry members and asked for activating the Joint Business Council which was agreed between both the countries back in 2017. The Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani then thanked Shah Mehmood Qureshi and focused on the need and the importance that his country believes in, to its relationship with Pakistan.

100,000 jobs offered to Pakistani workers in Qatar 

During the talks, Mr. Al Thani offered jobs to Pakistan. Prime Minister Abdul Rahman Al Thani promised to provide 100,000 jobs to the skilled and semi-skilled workers from Pakistan. This is indeed a very positive gesture by Qatar, as it can play a pivotal role in strengthening the relationship between both the countries.

There is a giant toll of Pakistani workers working in Qatar and furthermore, a lot of families have also settled in Qatar. This opportunity in the form of employment is going to be extremely beneficial for Pakistan as well as Qatar not only in terms of the relationship with each other but it will also bring a positive reinforcement in the economies of both the countries.
