London: Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf likely to appoint Prime Minister Imran Khan’s old friend, Sahibzada Jahangir, as the High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.
As per the news, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has directed the country’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Sahebzada Ahmed Khan to report at the Foreign Office in Islamabad. It has reported that the Government is planning on appointing an old friend of Prime Minister Imran Khan as the new Pakistani high commissioner to the UK.
The current Pakistani high commissioner to the UK is Sahebzada Ahmed Khan who took charge of the office about two months back, but there is a high probability that he would be replaced by Sahebzada Jahangir who is a very trusted friend of PM Khan and has lived in the UK for more than 40 years.
Sahebzada Jahangir is the brother of former PTI member and famous politician, Fatima Kasuri who has now joined Mustafa Kamal’s bandwagon Paksarzameen Party. Mr. Jahangir is from West London who is very close to PM Khan and has often been sighted with him. He also attended the oath-taking ceremony of PM Khan. One more noticeable event where Mr. Jahangir was seen, was the task force meeting on building 5 million homes which Imran Khan chaired. He was seen with Imran Khan at his Bani Gala residence and Prime Minister house soon after that. He was also invited by Imran Khan personally to attend his swearing-in ceremony as prime minister of Pakistan.
According the sources, it was discussed with the Prime Minister that Sahebzada Jahangir should be appointed Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the UK as he a very in-depth understanding of Imran Khan’s visions and his posting at the important station like London could help PTI’s government at a time when relations with America have frozen but ties with Britain remain cordial.

He said:
I am dismayed by the actions of our High Commissioner to the UK and have asked him to return to Pakistan and provide an explanation for his behaviour at the IPPA awards held in London.
